Panhandler commented on Top 10 Amazon Power Shopper Tools

this may not be quite on target, but I sometimes find books on Amazon that I want to read, but maybe just get from the library instead of buy from Amazon. Using this site as a guide, I built a bookmarket for the Leon County library, so when I'm on a book's page, I click my bookmark and a window from the library pops up letting me know if they have the book. If they do, it's a two-click process to reserve the book. When they email me that it's arrived, I walk over during lunch and get my book.

Panhandler commented on Comcast has started throttling

well, this will probably get me flamed to death, but I'm going to say it anyway....

If we GOT RID OF, rather than ADDED MORE, regulation, maybe a dozen new ISP's would crop up, each with its own cool and different traffic-shaping. You could join the ISP that optimizes WoW traffic, or the one that optimizes Skype. Or the one that optimizes regular browsing all day, then goes WoW-heavy from 5pm to midnight, then Stickam-optimizes from midight to 6am, etc etc etc....

Let a thousand roses bloom? Nah, let's demand a thousand more pages in the Federal Register and another billion-dollar tax sink for additional regulatory enforcement (which, once you get it in place, will immediately be corrupted by the oligopoly you all already hate).

I agree with most of you on the dismal state of current ISPs. I just differ on the means to sink their ships.
